Benton Police Department detectives have issued an update regarding the pedestrian hit-and-run accident that occurred Saturday evening near Exit 118 on the north service road. As of Tuesday afternoon, the female pedestrian victim remains in serious condition.
From evidence collected at the scene, detectives believe the offender was driving a 2012-2016 Nissan Juke. It will have front passenger side damage, specifically in the headlight and quarter panel regions.

The Benton Police Department responded to a 911 open line at approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019, just beyond the 118 exit on the north service road. Officers discovered an injured female victim, 36, on the side of the roadway. She was transported via ambulance for treatment and remains in serious condition. It is being investigated by the BNPD Criminal Investigations Division, with the Accident Reconstruction Team, as a hit-and-run accident and is an ongoing investigation.
