Saline County Preservation, Inc. (SCP) invites the public to gather with other Saline County folks who love preserving history, for the 2nd Annual Historical Summit. It’s Saturday, July 7th at 9:00 a.m. at the Saline County Courthouse.
In this event, participants get five minutes at the microphone to tell about your family or organization and what you are doing to keep the past alive.
According to SCP member Jenny Carlisle, there will be old fashioned games for the kids and you will hear a voice from the past telling what life in our county was like in “the good old days.”
This year the special guest will be William Lockhart, founder of the first settlement at the Saline Crossing (with help from former Benton Mayor Lynn Moore).
