Starlene “Star” Henson announces her candidacy for Bryant City Council, Ward 2, Position 2.
Ms. Henson is the widow of Jerry Henson who previously held this position; Mayor Jill Dabbs and City Council appointed her in February to complete her husband’s term.
“I will be honored if the citizens of Bryant give me an opportunity to serve as their representative as we work to provide city services,” stated Henson.
She defines some of her goals as, extending infrastructure to stay abreast of growth, completing the Midtown Development as expected, improving parks, and continuing the relationship with the City of Bryant and the Boys and Girls Club of Bryant.
“I have watched this town grow, I have seen the population increase, and I would like to see it to continue to grow and prosper.”
Henson and her late husband, Jerry have been residents of Bryant for over 26 years. They raised their son, L.J. Henson in the Bryant school district from 1st grade at Springhill Elementary until he graduated from Bryant High school in 2005. He resides in Bryant with his wife, Jessica, and son Grayson. Star’s stepdaughter, Stephanie also graduated from Bryant in 1998. Stephanie resides with her family in Vilonia.
