Women in Networking (WIN) of Saline County met Wednesday, March 13th in Benton and heard from speaker Karen Danhof.
Due to a Stage IV colon cancer diagnosis, Karen is currently on medical leave from her place of employment. She volunteers for CARTI, the independent, not-for-profit cancer care provider. Karen graciously told the group of about 40 women her journey with cancer treatment and also talked about a goal to help others being treated.
She explained that during chemotherapy, patients get very cold from the process. Because of this, Karen and others have started raising funds to purchase heated recliners for patients in the Benton location. The fundraiser goal is $75,000, which will go to purchase 10 of these recliners and one hematology analyzer for CARTI’s Benton medical oncology clinic, located inside Saline Memorial Hospital.
If you would like to donate, you can do so online at https://carti.ejoinme.org/donate – be sure to select “CARTI Benton” for your gift. CARTI is a tax-deductible 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.
