Deputies responded to East End area for a shoplifting incident which just occurred at Sanders Ace Hardware, 20191 Arch St Pike, according to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).
Two suspects apparently stole rolls of wire, then busted the front glass door. The driver of the vehicle, a U-Haul van, fled from law enforcement. Deputies deployed a spike strip in the path of the vehicle, which caused the driver to wreck.

At that point, two suspects fled on foot. Law enforcement arrested one suspect, Kailus Mikeal Austin, an African American male, age 28.
Multiple agencies assisted, but the other suspect escaped. The U-Haul van was later found to be stolen out of Little Rock.
