On Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 4:34 p.m., the Bryant Police Department received a call of a small aircraft had crashed just near the Saline County Regional Airport in Bryant. The aircraft was identified as a single engine gyrocopter. Bryant Officers along with Fire rescue responded to the scene. After locating the gyrocopter and the pilot the crash was then listed as a fatality.
The crash is being investigated by the FAA. No further updates as to what caused the crashed has been determined at this time.
The pilot of the Gyrocopter was identified as 76-year-old Jack Payne Sr. of Little Rock, Arkansas.
