A Benton man was arrested on Sunday, after accusations of bestiality, accompanied with video evidence. On Sunday, August 4, 2024, around 5:30 p.m., a Benton Police Officer took a report from a mother and daughter in the parking lot of the Police Department, in reference to a report of bestiality.
The daughter found a video on the Ring app of her mother’s boyfriend, Gregory McCabe, age 53, of Benton, sexually abusing their dog. The camera was pointed in the bedroom to keep an eye on the mom’s personal belongings.
The daughter stated that the sexual abuse to the dog took place on Saturday, around 2:00pm on N Fourth Street. The mom stated she had been worried about her English Bulldog due to her vaginal area being swollen and red. The daughter advised that after locating the video she told her mom about it on their way to the post office due to her not yet being aware of the video.
The mom stated that the Ring camera was aimed at the bedroom due to McCabe’s daughter living there also, and her stealing in the past.
The Officer stated that while watching the video evidence, he saw a man, identified as McCabe, standing in the bedroom next to the bed with the English Bulldog standing on top of the bed. The Officer stated that he saw the man take off his clothes, put what appeared to be lubrication on the dog and himself, get on the bed and then have intercourse with the dog. The Officer stated that the video ended when the man noticed the camera and moved it.
Four Officers then went to the residence. A male answered, and identified himself as McCabe. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Benton Police Department. Next, McCabe was interviewed by the Criminal Investigations Division (CID).
McCabe was transported to the Saline County Detention Center and charged with:
• Aggravated cruelty to a dog, cat, or equine 5-62-104 D/F, and
• Bestiality 5-14-122 A/M.
