The State of Arkansas has been providing COVID-19 pandemic updates on an almost daily basis. Today, Dr. Nate Smith, State Secretary of Health, takes over as Governor Asa Hutchinson meets with the President and Vice President in Washington DC. The following are some Key Notes, Statistics, and Video.
There were no major announcements today. The Governor previously said that a decision would be announced today on when team sports and summer camps would be able to happen. That announcement has been postponed to Thursday.
Dr. Smith listed the current statistics for COVID-19 patients below:
- 5003 total cases
- 80 new cases
- 1 in corrections
- 79 in the community
- 1044 active cases
- 85 in nursing homes
- 315 in corrections
- 644 in the community
- 107 deaths, up 5
- 4 were from nursing homes
- 79 hospitalizations, up 1
- 16 on a ventilator, up 2
- 3852 recovered, up 113
Statistics for Saline County as of the end of the day yesterday were:
- Total Positive: 82
- Active Positive: 9
- Recovered: 72
- Deaths: 1
- Negatives: 2,675
