Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson held a news conference on Sunday, April 5th, 2020 to update on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Arkansas COVID-19 Update for SUNDAY, APRIL 5, 2020. Please continue practicing social distancing. Tomorrow an announcement on the school year will be made.
There are currently 830 cases (up 87) – 14 in federal correctional facility in Forrest City, CDC is coming to assist. Based on projections we were supposed to be at over 2,000 so kudos to Arkansans and practicing social distancing!
• Cases in children under 18: 2.4%
• 18-24: 6.6%
• 25-44: 29.6%
• 45-64: 34.9%
• 65+: 26.4%
67 hospitalized (down 5)
• 130 total that have ever been hospitalized
27 on ventilators (up 4)
• 43 total ever on ventilators
• 785 Ventilators in Arkansas
o 551 are currently available
16 deaths (up 2) – 12 are 65 years and older and 4 are in the 19-65 age range.
97 recovered (up 18) – asking those that are recovered to donate plasma because of antibodies to help treat those with COVID-19, this process will be functional soon.
114 of the 830 are healthcare workers
• 14 doctors, 34 nurses, 11 CNAs, rest are other
2 state legislators have tested positive
Testing continues to increase, 11,488 tests done
• 992 done yesterday (56 UAMS, 111 ADH, 825 commercial labs)
In Arkansas
31% that have test positive have 1 or more underlying conditions.
• Diabetes – 9.3%
• Heart Disease – 8%
• Lung Disease – 5%
Arkansas is partnering with the Arkansas Community Foundation to create the COVID-19 relief fund for non-profits on the fronts lines of COVID-19.
You can apply grants through them for you non-profit or if you are able donate to the fund at ARCF.ORG/COVID19
• Over $2 million has been pledged
• 175 grants have been awarded across the state

• Their charitable fund is also donation $100,000 to the COVID-19 relief fund
There is no plan to release any prisoners.
