Will Rockefeller, current Vice President of Winrock Farms, and former intern with the Heritage Foundation and legislative correspondent to U.S. Senator John Boozman, spoke on Tuesday, November 7th to the Saline County Republican Committee.
Rockefeller’s topic was “What it means to be a Republican, standing up for Republican Values and our Platform.” He addressed political correctness and noted that while he doesn’t agree with everything Donald Trump tweets, he feels that through being so vocal, and refusing to apologize for anything, the President has taught the Republican party how to fight.
“I used to dislike the tweeting,” stated Rockefeller. “I wanted so much to defend him but it’s so hard when he tweets something that’s indefensible. And a lot of Americans feel the same way, but I realized that Twitter is Trump’s secret weapon. It allows him to take his message directly to the people and to control his own message, instead of allowing the media to twist it or misrepresent it.”
Rockefeller went on to say what else he likes about the President. “Trump has taught people that it’s okay to have and to hold conservative values. You’re not a bad person for believing in traditional family values, free markets, limited government and Judeo-Christian principles.”
Around 50 people came to hear Rockefeller speak, including party members and candidates, along with at least one independent candidate. Rockefeller stayed after the meeting to meet people personally and answer any questions they had and have discussions.
