The Saline County Republican Committee (SCRC) met Thursday evening at the Enclave in Benton, to elect new officers for 2021-2022. The committee elected Ken Yang as the new Chairman of the SCRC. (See the full list of new officers below.)
“I am extremely honored to have been given this opportunity to lead our local Republican Party,” said Yang, “I look forward to building upon the great job that Chairman Steve Lux has done.”
Chairman Ken Yang is the first ever Asian-American elected as a Republican County Chairman in Arkansas. His term is for two years.
Ken is founder and president of American Dream Strategies, LLC, a political consulting firms in Arkansas. A native of Benton, he graduated from Benton High School and Hendrix College with a Bachelor in History, and he lettered in NCAA III tennis.
His father fled China in 1949 and immigrated to the United States in 1983 with Ken’s mother. The family were owners of Sin Sin Chinese restaurant in Benton.
At age 21, Ken served as Campaign Manager for former State Representative Mark Martin’s 2010 campaign for Arkansas Secretary of State. In 2012, Ken served in Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign on the national field team, as the State Field Director for Ohio and Alabama. After the primary, Ken was hired as Romney Victory Field Staff in Ohio. Ken also ran for Arkansas State Auditor at age 23, garnering national attention.
“My vision is to promote bold conservative Christian values, reaching out to our local communities, and working with our local leaders and electing good Republican candidates,” said Yang.

- Election Commissioners – Lois Burks and Jamie Clemmer
The 2019-2020 officers were:

- Treasurer – Neil Pansey
