UPDATE, 4 P.M. MON FEB 12, 2024
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) released a statement with more details about a multiple homicide incident on Saturday, February 10, 2024. At approximately 4:00 p.m. that day, Saline County 911 received a call for a structure fire on Pryor Drive. First responders arrived and found a deceased individual with an apparent gunshot wound. This launched an investigation by the SCSO Criminal Investigation Division. Upon further investigation, two more deceased individuals were located at the residence with apparent gunshot wounds.
A juvenile person of interest was questioned on the day of the incident. He and was later charged with the deaths of the 3 individuals, he is currently being held without a bond. The suspect is age 15, but is being charged as an adult. The charges are Capital Murder, Arson, Abuse of a Corpse and Tampering with Physical Evidence. The deceased individuals have been identified as Jacob Martin Sr., age 47; Dara Martin, age 53, and Aleah Martin, age 16.
As the investigation continues, Sheriff Rodney Wright and the Saline County Sheriff’s Office would like to send thoughts and prayers to the family and to all those affected by this tragic incident.
UPDATE, 9 P.M. SAT FEB 10, 2024
According to Captain Shamlin with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, during the course of the investigation it has been revealed that three deceased individuals were located at the scene, not four.
Shamlin also said there is a person of interest in custody. It is being investigated as a homicide at this time.

Multiple people are dead at a Saline County residence. Capt Joseph Shamlin of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office stated the Criminal Investigation Division was on the scene at Pryor Drive, early Saturday evening.
First responders on scene located 4 individuals deceased, according to Shamlin. The investigation is in the southwest area of the county near Glen Rose, just south of the intersection of Highway 67 and Interstate 30 (Exit 111).
This is an active investigation, more information will be released as it becomes available.
