PREVIOUSLY 05/13/19:
The Fred’s store in Bryant, Arkansas is due to close soon. It’s been since December 2018 that I MySaline told you Fred’s would be closing their pharmacy business. See that story on MySaline here. In April, Fred’s corporate offices decided to close 159 (or about 30 percent) of their stores altogether. See that story on KATV here. The company is currently amid a liquidation sale in each of those stores. It includes 19 stores in Arkansas – and one of those is in Bryant.

Clerks at the local Fred’s at 3395 Highway 5 North in Bryant, stated that this location is due to close at the end of this week. See photos below from where I took a quick look around the store on Saturday to see what’s left and how the deals look. There are still some staple items such as paper towels and toothpaste. There are toys, food, beer, home decor, stationery, clothing and some gardening supplies, among other regular items. There are also some surprises – a tube television and several Halloween costumes. And you can buy some equipment such as the refrigerators. These first two rows of images are going to look like a party. But several locals will be out of a job soon.
