The Bryant Police Department assisted in an attempt to arrest a fugitive yesterday.
On Tuesday, May 18, the US Marshals Service and Saline County Sheriffs Office attempted to arrest a suspect, Frankie Allen Whaley Jr., on federal and state warrants.
Whaley fled through Bryant in a vehicle down Northlake Rd and then onto Hilltop Rd where he wrecked his car. The suspect then fled the scene on foot into the woods. The Marshals Office told the Bryant PD that the suspect was still on the run Wednesday morning.
Whaley is wanted by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force for felon in possession of a firearm. He is also wanted by the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and numerous other violent felony warrants. Whaley is from the Conway area. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
He is described as a black male, age 42, 5’10” in height and 170 lbs. with brown eyes and black hair. He has tattoos on his right arm, upper right arm, and right shoulder. He may also use the names Matthew Johninson, or Frank.
