Saline County residents in Fountain Lake School District may vote in Feb 8th Millage Election

Some Saline County residents are eligible to vote in a special election for the Fountain Lake School District on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. There are Saline County voters who live in the Fountain Lake School District even though the district is located in Garland County. Voters are not required to have children attending school in the district.

WHAT

Fountain Lake School District is asking Saline and Garland County residents in the school district to vote for or against a 39.8 Mill School Tax. This is a 5.0 Mill increase over the current rate.

TIME – Early Voting Hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

DATES – Tue Feb 1 – Mon Feb 7, 2022 (except no voting on Saturday or Sunday).

ABSENTEE VOTING

February 1, 2022 is the last day the Saline County Clerk’s office can accept applications by mail, fax or email.  After that, voting can only be done in person.

This election is open to all registered voters residing within Garland County, Arkansas, and all registered voters within the Fountain Lake School District, residing in Saline County, Arkansas. Registered voters may vote at any open location on Election Day or during Early Voting.

Absentee ballots will be opened and processed beginning at 9:00 a.m. on 2/11/2022 at 649 Ouachita Ave. Counting of Absentee ballots will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Election Day.

Tabulation will begin after the polls close on Election Day, and results will be posted as soon as available on the Election Commission website www.garlandcountyvote.org.

A list of appointed Election Officials will be posted at the Garland County Clerk’s office on 1/19/2022. Objections to Election Officials must be made in writing to the Election Commission by 1/29/2022
