Clay Ford, the Saline County Attorney, has announced his candidacy for Saline County District Judge, Benton Division. The position is currently held by Judge Mike Robinson who is retiring.
A lifelong resident of Saline County, Ford’s entire career as an attorney has been in Saline County.
Ford said that he has “a desire to serve the people of Saline County and help ensure fairness and justice to all.”
Ford’s family is no stranger to public service. His late grandfather, Bill Ford, was a Justice of the Peace for the Saline County Quorum Court. His grandmother, Delores Hester-Ford, is a former Saline County Assessor. His father Greg Ford, is a Battalion Chief for the Benton Fire Department and his mother, Kim Ford, works for the Benton School District.
Prior to being appointed County Attorney by then County Judge Lanny Fite, Ford served as a public defender in Saline County. As the Saline County Attorney, Ford represents Saline County government in civil court and counsels the county elected officials, county offices, and Quorum Court. Ford has presided as Special District Judge in both the Benton and Bryant Divisions of Saline County District Court.
Personally, Ford is married to the former Amy Harrington of Bauxite. They have three children, Campbell (5), Henry (3), and Major (2).
The election for Saline County District Judge will be held on March 3, 2020.
