Come “Fellowship in the Park” and meet your Benton neighbors on a Saturday afternoon. The Ralph Bunche Neighborhood Association of Benton, with the National Night Out organization, has organized an event on Saturday, October 17th from 4-6 p.m. at Ralph Bunche Park, 1300 S. East Street, in Benton. The event is geared to help bridge the gap in race relations in the community.
Robin Freeman, spokeswoman for the event, says that the goal of this event is to “get folks together to meet one another and to talk and develop relationships. It is clear that we need more opportunities to talk and share our stories with one
another.”
There will be free food, team-building activities for attendees, and guest speakers. Social distancing guidelines will be in place so it is requested that everyone bring their own chair and wear a mask. Everyone is invited to attend, regardless of race or age.
Sponsors for the event include: National Night Out, The City of Benton, First Security Bank, United Healthcare, CADC, Maples Insurance Agency, & the Wilma Stewart Garden Club.
In case of rain, the event will be held a day later on October 18th at the same times. For more information, you can contact Robin Freeman at [email protected] or Reid Phifer at [email protected].
