First Electric Cooperative’s member-supported Operation Round-Up program awarded $20,350 to 14 local organizations in April. Three of those organizations were in Saline County and received their share of $3,600. See the entire list below.
Members who enroll in Operation Round-Up volunteer to have their electric bill rounded up to the next even dollar amount each month. They have donated more than $1.07 million for local service organizations and scholarships for high school seniors since 1998. Members may enroll by calling 800-489-7405 or looking under the “Community” tab at www.firstelectric.coop.
Recipients by county include:
- Arkansas County — DeWitt Senior Center, $1,000
- Cleburne County — Wilburn Fire & Rescue $2,000
- Grant County — The Literacy Council of Grant County, $1,000
- Lonoke County — Grand Prairie CASA, $2,000; and Open Arms Shelter, $2,000
- Perry County — Cherry Hill VFD, $2,000; Renewal Ranch Ministries, $1,500; and Stony Point Community Association, $1,000
- Pulaski County — Fishnet Missions of Jacksonville, $2,000; Holy Sews, $1,250; Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Pulaski Co., $1,000
- Saline County — Boys and Girls Club of Bryant, $1,100; Fostering the Arts, $1,000; and Saline Co. 4-H Foundation, $1,500 (click the linked names to visit the organizations)
