First Electric Cooperative announced Monday their member-supported Operation Round-Up program awarded $17,800 to 14 local organizations in April. Three thousand dollars of that went to Saline County organizations.
Operation Round-Up is a fund from customer members who volunteer to have their electric bill rounded up to the next even dollar amount each month. This fund has donated more than $979,000 for local service organizations and scholarships for high school seniors since 1998. Members may enroll by calling 800-489-7405 or looking under the “Community” tab at www.firstelectric.coop.
Organizations in Saline County were:
- In Saline County – Shaw Fire Protection District received $1,000; and Boys and Girls Club of Bryant received $2,000.
Organizations in other counties were:
- In Arkansas County – Dana’s House received $1,000; Personal Pep Rally received $1,500; and DeWitt Senior Center received $1,500.
- In Cleburne County – Disabled American Veterans received $1,000.
- In Lonoke County – Lonoke County Museum received $1,000; CASA of Lonoke County received $1,000; and Options Pregnancy Center received $1,000.
- In Perry County – Perry County Historical Museum received $600; Perry County Arts League received $2,000; and Perry County Shooting Sports received $1,600.
- In Pulaski County – Fishnet Missions of Jacksonville received $1,000.
- In White County — Floyd/Romance Volunteer Fire Department received $1,600.
