Benton residents Ethan VanCamp and his mother Kim were at home together on September 3rd, 2016, when he experienced an explosion outside with a tiki torch. The flames overcame 14-year-old Ethan and he was burned on 76% of his body. Lifenet ground crews and Lifenet Air 2 rescue flight brought Ethan to Arkansas Children’s Hospital that night.
The family said he is undergoing many surgeries, including different types of skin grafts. The skin on both arms had to completely replaced. It’s enough to deal with, but his mother, in her efforts to help the situation sustained burn injuries as well.
I won’t publish a fundraiser for an individual on MySaline often, but in this situation, a boy clinging to life needs his mother, and she is unable to work during his intense recovery.
