Food prep company in Bryant calls it quits after 7 years; Selling off kitchen

A food prep company in Bryant announced they will close for good this week. Owner Tamara Baka issued the statement that Elite Meals will close, and beginning Thursday, May 25th, they are selling off their appliances and equipment.

While the customers may be sad, Baka is relieved that she will be able to spend time with family, and it’s been a long time coming.

These posts usually start off “with a heavy heart”, but not this one.

It is with a breath of fresh air, a huge weight lifted off my chest, and a smile on my face, that I announce I am closing Elite Meals effective May 23, 2023.

This prep we are currently working on will be our last. So if you want to support us on our way out, this is your last chance.

This month marks our seventh year in business.
I have wanted to close for several years but was too scared. I am a bit of a control freak and closing would have had so many unknowns that I wasn’t ready for.

My mental health is seriously suffering and my children are suffering. We work every day of the week and our weekends are spent working while the kids are stuck at home. It’s not fair to them. I’ve learned a lot about myself in these seven years, one of them being I don’t want to run a business. I run a household and that’s plenty.

Thank you to all of our customers. Some who have been with us from the very beginning. You are so appreciated.

I’m planning to sell everything within both Bryant and Little Rock locations. If someone wants to buy everything and my business, I’d consider it. But I won’t add anymore stress to myself.
I’ll begin posting items for sale next week. I’ll likely just have a time where you can come in and buy items.

Again, this prep will continue. Pick up will still be Sunday and Monday as usual and deliveries will be Sunday and Monday as usual.
