The last day to receive an Economic Impact Payment (EIP) via direct deposit was Friday, January 15, 2021. If you didn’t get a payment that way, look for a paper check or pre-paid debit instead. However, according to a statement from Congressman French Hill, it may take several weeks to receive that payment. The IRS is still working to issue those to Arkansans.
If you are eligible for an EIP but do not receive one, you may be able to claim a Recovery Rebate Credit in your 2020 income tax. Filing your taxes as soon as possible will help to expedite the payments. According to the IRS, even if you usually don’t file taxes, it is the only way to claim your first and/or second EIP.
