The 8th annual East End Sizzler 5K, sponsored by the Little Rock South Lions Club, will be Saturday, Oct. 1. The Sizzler 5K serves as a fundraiser for a variety of community projects and non-profit groups. The event begins at 8 a.m. at East Union Missionary Baptist Church in East End.
Early registration before the Sept. 15th deadline is $25. After that deadline, registration is $30. On race day, registration begins at 7 a.m. There is a special group rate of $20 each for any three entries submitted together with payment by Sept. 15. Trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in all age categories. The top overall male and female finishers will also be recognized separately. Race t-shirts will be available to everyone who registers by Sept. 15 and while supplies last afterward. Race t-shirts will be made of quick-dry wicking material.
In addition to the race, there will also be a free health fair from 8-10 a.m. at the church.
