The year is not quite over yet but let’s take a look at the year in real estate countywide. We will talk about home sales in a minute but let’s focus on commercial development first.
We have seen multiple retail developments that have brought stores close to us that we never thought we would see in Saline County. And they are full as soon as they open. It is like the people came from nowhere. Where did all of these people shop before these stores were here? Did they go to Pulaski County and Little Rock? And it is not just retail clothing stores, we have seen the expansion of outdoor equipment dealers too, and most visible are the car dealers. But the most exciting business activity is what has happened in Downtown Benton with the local businesses and activities like Third Thursday.
And the restaurants! Oh my gosh, talk about new to us! Multiple national chains coming in and filling up like the stores. Numerous local eateries, food trucks at the Main Street Station, farm to market products abound and I expect all of this to get even better with the renovation of The Palace Theater and other exciting things coming soon.
Let’s not forget the schools. All school districts in the county are flourishing with new and bigger facilities. Bryant has a new junior high school that seems more like a junior college and the Benton Athletic Complex is not rivaled by many in the State.
This being said, Build it and they will come. People are moving to Saline County and the growth is obvious. They come because of the schools and the quality of life you see around us. Let’s take a look at home sales in our county so far this year:
- 1617 Single family Homes sold
- 296 New Construction
- 45 Average days on market
- $194,134 Average price
- $165,690 Median price
- Almost $314,000,000 total spent on Single Family homes in 2019 so far
These are good numbers folks! This is with a population of a little over 120,000 people. This is about a 13% increase in population in the past decade. We definitely have a lot to be thankful for in our “Heart of Arkansas.”
Saline County is a GREAT place to call home!
Mike Staver is a great speaker and business coach. He recently shared a point that I believe applies to this time of the year.
“If you were sitting with 10 other people and everyone threw their problems on the table, there would be a good chance that you would be more than willing to take yours back.”
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday with you and yours!
