Saline County Clerk Doug Curtis announces his intent to continue serving the citizens of Saline County by seeking reelection.
“I have lived in Saline County all my life and I love the people of this county. They are hardworking, generous, and family oriented. I know and believe as registered voters, they have the right to have a voice with their vote” commented Doug Curtis, “As Saline County Clerk I will continue to protect this right and privilege.”
Under Curtis’ leadership and direction, the election process has been upgraded by implementing electronic voting which ensures fewer manual tabulations. He has developed all voting sites into Vote Centers which helps voters to cast their ballots in a more convenient manner. Under his tenure, an early vote center was established in the East End part of the county.
“Having the opportunity to be a part of the election process is an honor. As a child I learned the importance of the system while participating in the campaigns of my dad, Benton City Alderman Billy Bob Curtis.”
As Saline County Clerk, Curtis has streamlined his office and cut operational cost. He has restructured his office and voting space to increase efficiency and utilize current building structures for Saline County.
Currently Curtis serves as Vice President for the Arkansas Association of County Clerks and is on the executive board for the Association of Arkansas Counties. While serving in these positions, “I have learned a wealth of knowledge about current policies across the state and new laws that affect the clerk’s office.”
Curtis has been a member of the Saline County Republican Party since 1990 and has been an advocate for fair and conservative issues.
Curtis served on the Quorum Court for several years where he was the Chair of the Finance, and Building Committee during the restoration of the Saline County Courthouse. He was also appointed to the Airport Commission where he served to help establish and construct the Saline County Regional Airport.
Curtis commented, “I have been honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the growth of Saline County. My family is very important to me and I want them to experience life in a great community.”
Curtis has been an employee, an employer and a small business owner. “While operating Curtis Auto Glass, I learned the value of working with people and helping them. When I became the Saline County Clerk, I organized a quarterly meeting of all the county elected officials so we could coordinate and communicate. Working together enables you to get more accomplished.”
Having this experience and a comprehensive understanding of county government allows Curtis to serve the citizens of Saline County in a capacity of leadership, knowledge, experience and with a servant’s heart.
Curtis has been married to Jeannette Talbert Curtis for 40 years and has 4 wonderful children with 4 wonderful spouses. Six of the world’s best grandchildren and a new granddaughter due in April 2022 to make 7.
I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT TO CONTINUE THE PROGRESS OF OUR GREAT COUNTY.
