We have waited for what seems like forever to get the announcement of another one of these stores. Anytime it’s longer than a few months – or weeks even – we start to wonder what’s taking so long. Well here are the details. It’s Haskell getting a new Dollar General this time.
Haskell has a very small footprint and not much revenue from retail, so financially, the City will surely welcome this store. About the only way to add new businesses is to take away something else. In this particular instance, the property was formerly residential.

The demolition and excavation of the property was photographed by Cheryl Cook on Thursday morning as she was passing through. The address right now is 3000 & 2922 HWY 229 in Haskell. The land sold for $215,000 on March 9, 2023. It is approximately 2.34 acres, on the east side of 229, just south of Harmony Grove Schools and across from Old Mill Lane.

We don’t have notes on when to expect this Dollar General location to open, but if everything goes well, maybe by Fall.
