According to GBT Realty Corporation of Brentwood, Tennessee, The Shoppes of Benton rounds out completion of more than a half-million square feet of retail across America’s heartland region. The Shoppes, along with developments in St. Louis, Missouri and Bartlesville, Oklahoma, are a combined 90% leased with stores, services & and restaurants.
In their press release, GBT states that The Shoppes has brought more than 700 jobs and nearly $1.7 million in local annual sales tax revenue to the City of Benton. This is GBT’s first project in Arkansas.
It’s also the first commercial development to capitalize on a resolution passed by the City of Benton establishing a partnership with the Benton Public Utilities Commission to support necessary infrastructure improvements. The City of Benton contributed an estimated $1.4 million for this project.
The Shoppes of Benton is alone is valued at $36 million, according to GBT. It’s located on the north side of Interstate 30, west of Alcoa Exit 121. The 170,000-square foot shopping center has the following stores currently open:

- T.J.Maxx
- Home Goods
- Flowers & Home
- Sport Clips
- Ulta
- Hobby Lobby

- Avalon Nails
- Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers
Approximately 11,000 square feet of shop space and one one-acre outparcel are still available.
