The Democratic Party of Saline County will host guest speaker Kwami Abdule-Bey at the regular meeting on Monday, November 1st, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Abdule-Bey and his wife, Clarice, are the co-directors of the Washitaw Foothills Youth Media Arts & Literacy Collective, co-convenors of the Arkansas Peace & Justice Memorial Movement, an educational online memorial to commemorate the victims of lynchings in the State of Arkansas. He is also a redistricting cartographer with the Arkansas Fair and Equitable Mapping Awareness, Planning and Action Team.
The meeting will be at the local party headquarters at 101 Market Street in Downtown Benton. Organizers say there will be “snacks, fun, and inspiration, along with a lot of education about redistricting.”
