Davie Gibson issued the following campaign announcement Monday, September 27th that he is filing for Republican Candidate for Saline County Tax Collector.
Gibson currently serves on the Saline County Quorum Court and is an elected Justice of the Peace for District 9. He has served on the Quorum Court for the past 3 years. Gibson is also very active in the Republican Party and serves on the Saline County Republican Executive Committee Board of Directors.
Gibson stated, “I believe the office of Tax Collector is an important office performs great services for the residents of Saline County. My goal is to demonstrate where collected tax dollars are going and how these tax dollars are being used to benefit the residents of Saline County. I believe most people want to know where their tax dollars are going, and they deserve to know this.”
“As a Quorum Court member, I have gained insight into each county office, how they work together to benefit the people of Saline County. We have a lot of great people working in our county and I want to be a part of this growth. I believe my time and experience on the Quorum Court will help me greatly.”
“Getting to know each Quorum Court member and County official has been insightful and beneficial and will help greatly as Tax Collector. Serving on the Quorum Court has been a great opportunity and one that I will always look back on with a great deal of pride and humility. As a Quorum Court member, we are tasked with reviewing and approving county budgets, appropriating funds for the expenses of the county as prescribed by ordinances, discussing public works, safety, and finance. This is a detailed and tedious process. Understanding the various roles and relationships of each office will allow me to hit the ground running.”
“I am a proven conservative and I look forward to the challenges ahead. I want everyone to know that I will work hard for Saline County, and I will work hard to serve each person. It would be an honor to serve Saline County in the role of Tax Collector and I humbly ask for your vote.”
