I wish I could make it to every one of the great events that are related to Saline County, but as a one-person news team, I cannot. So today, I’m going to just tell you about some things that are happening.
#1.
Thursday night, October 12th at the Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock, Attorney Jennifer Lancaster of The Lancaster Law Firm in Benton, was honored with the Woman of the Year Volunteer Award by WOW. WOW is a non-profit organization started by Bryant resident Jajuan Archer. The letters stand for Women’s Own Worth, and the organization helps survivors of domestic violence to gain their safety and independence.

For some time now, Bishop Park in Bryant has had a Disc Golf course called The Traxx, but as part of the park improvements made possible by the city bond extension, it has been upgraded to what amounts to a new 18-hole course designed and constructed by Preston Cowan and Robbie Shaw. Baldwin Shell is the builder on this project. The grand opening for the course will be at 9am on Saturday, October 14th. Join Bryant Parks and Recreation and the rest to celebrate the new course. The Bryant School District will hold a ground breaking ceremony for a new elementary school. I know the name of it but I’m not telling. The name will be revealed to the public at the ceremony at 8:30 am on Tuesday, October 24th, at the site of construction at the intersection of Hilldale Road and Hilltop Road.
