The Benton Police Department (BNPD) and the United States Secret Service, is investigating multiple counterfeit currency cases that have occurred in Benton throughout 2019. As of September, there have been 241 counterfeit bills of various denominations passed in the city this year. BNPD is seeking the public’s help in identifying the persons responsible.
Recent cases largely involve the passing of counterfeit $100 bills, with 17 cases total for the year involving that denomination- some dating back to the early part of 2019. It is believed some of these cases might be related and involve some of the same suspects.
BNPD Criminal Investigations Division detectives have gathered a series of photos related to the incidents and are asking for your help in identifying the individuals.
Should you recognize any of the subjects or have any information that could lead to the arrest and prosecution of those manufacturing the counterfeit currency, please contact BNPD detectives at 501-776-5947. You can remain anonymous. Tips may also be provided at 501-315-TIPS, sent via text to CRIMES (274637) with the keyword BNPD in the body of the message, via the official Benton Police Department app or at www.crimereports.com.
