The Hot Springs Village Property Owners Association (HSV POA) announced Friday that the peninsula of land on the south side of Lake Cortez, known to many as “Cortez Beach” was recently purchased by private individuals and will no longer be open to the public.
In a letter to property owners, HSV POA Board Chair Diana Podawiltz stated, “Under our ‘handshake’ agreement our property owners enjoyed access to this area for many, many years. We were able to have insurance coverage through our policy. This is no longer the case.”
The letter also noted that DeSoto and Balboa Beaches are still open, as well as the new pool.
