Property at Congo Stove Catches Fire; Cause Being Determined

Sometime around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, Benton Fire Department responded to a fire at Congo Stove Works at 19650 Interstate 30 North in Benton. It appears the fire started with some wooden pallets next to the west side of the building. The fire was right next to a wall, and the heat damaged the it considerably.  The Fire Marshall has been called to the scene to investigate the cause of the blaze. We’ll update with more information as we get it.
