Because of upcoming construction on Arkansas 5, Collegeville Elementary will change the way parents enter and exit the school, according to Bryant Schools spokesperson Devin Sherrill.
“Student safety is the most important consideration in making these changes,” stated Sherrill.
The following will begin on Monday, August 14th, the first day of school.
NO FRONT ENTRANCE:
No vehicles will come in the front gate for morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. The front gates will be closed to vehicles from 7:00-8:30 a.m. and 1:45-4:00 p.m. daily.
BACK ENTRANCE:
Enter from the I-30 West Frontage Road for drop off and pick up. This is at the back of the campus. Signs will be placed to help direct traffic. Two lanes are available for drop off and pick up.
EXITS:
- Exit by returning to the Frontage Road; or
- Exit by the front gate, with a right turn on Highway 5.
- Vehicles will not be able to turn left onto Highway 5.
LANES:
Vehicles should enter and stay in the lane which directs them to one of the two exits. Due to safety and congestion, vehicles will not be able to switch lanes once entering the car line.
The I-30 West service road entrance is for school traffic only – not to be used as a cut-through for other traffic.
Sherrill stated, “Parents are encouraged to drive the new route before the first day of school and decide how best to enter and exit. We ask for the public’s patience and cooperation as parents, students and staff adjust to the new system.”
