For Immediate Release
Regarding: Civitan Services and COVID-19/Coronavirus
As you have likely heard, there have been several presumptive positive cases of the COVID-19/Coronavirus in Central Arkansas and across our state. Civitan Services is dedicated to protecting the health and safety of our clients and staff. At this time there has been a risk of potential exposure to our campus and we are taking every precaution to not only address this potential exposure, but also protect the health and safety of each and every one of our clients and staff.
At this time the following procedures have been implemented:
In line with the Saline County School District and after consulting with the Arkansas Department of Health, Civitan Services Preschool and Adult Services campuses will both be CLOSED beginning Friday, March 13 and will re-open at the completion of Spring Break on Monday, March 30.
The Civitan Shoppe and Donation Center will remain OPEN for normal business hours.
Do not panic – fear is not an appropriate response and actually makes things worse.
We are following all flu and COVID-19/Coronavirus precaution guidelines as directed by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
We have posted hand-washing guidance posters around our facilities to help remind clients, staff, and visitors to regularly wash their hands.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has suggested the following guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19/Coronavirus:
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw used tissues in a lined trash can.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing; going to the bathroom; and before eating or preparing food. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean all “high touch” surfaces daily. These surfaces include counters, tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, keyboards, tablets, and bedside tables.
Handle foods carefully including limiting food sharing and practicing strict hygiene.
Stay at home if you are feeling sick and/or have a sick family member in your home.
Thank you for your understanding. We hope that you stay healthy and safe. We look forward to seeing you back on campus on March 30th.
