Ever wanted to know what it’s like to be a firefighter? ???? Bryant Fire Department is now registering citizens for Citizen Fire Academy.
The Bryant Fire Department (BFD) recognizes the importance of maintaining a close relationship with the citizens we serve. In an effort to further promote this relationship, the BFD has developed a program called the Citizen Fire Academy (CFA). The CFA is designed to teach citizens about the many jobs the BFD does on a daily basis and to promote citizen interaction with the firefighters and leaders of the department.
The Citizen Fire Academy is a dynamic 7-week program designed to provide participants with an inside view of the organization and operations of the BFD. The curriculum includes live demonstrations, classroom learning and hands-on experiences all of which are designed to give the participant a true feel for the BFD. Best of all, the entire program is free and open to anyone 18-years-of-age or older who lives in Bryant. Three citizens from each of the four city wards will be selected to attend. The deadline for applications to be submitted will be August 1, 2021.
“We look forward to this event and the opportunity to get to know the citizens we serve better” states Bryant Fire Chief J.P. Jordan. “ I encourage anyone who is interested to apply or reach out to Battalion Chief Tommy Hammond, who also serves as the city’s Fire Marshal for additional information.”
