Reports from Benton residents of a possible burglary led to the arrest of a suspect for multiple charges. At approximately 9:41 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to The Greens at Longhills apartment complex on Longhills Road East.
Upon arrival, officers located a man, later identified as Isaac Strong, age 37, of Little Rock, standing in front of the apartment holding a pry bar. Strong then dropped the pry bar and fled on foot. He was later captured at the entrance of Longhills Golf Course and Arkansas Highway 5.
Detectives discovered tool marks on the door frame to the apartment and a piece of plastic covering the adjacent apartment door’s peep hole. Strong was positively identified by a witness.
Strong was taken to the Saline County Detention Center and faces charges of Criminal Attempt to Commit Residential Burglary, class C felony; 1st degree Criminal Mischief, class A misdemeanor; Fleeing, class C misdemeanor; Possession of an Instrument of Crime, class A misdemeanor; and Refusal to Submit to Arrest, class B misdemeanor. Strong is expected to face additional charges, including an additional count of Criminal Attempt to Commit Residential Burglary.
