UPDATE FEB 25, 2021
Benton Utilities released a statement Thursday morning, lifting the request for customers to conserve water in the last several days. While the statement says they are back to normal operating capacity, they are also encouraging customers to continue, if possible, to do laundry, dishwashing and bathing during off peak hours.
They have sent several samples to the Arkansas Department of Health, and hope to get news on Friday to be able to lift the boil order at that time. There are still leaks, but the effects would be in isolated areas and not systemwide.
UPDATE FEB 24, 2021
Benton Utilities released a statement Wednesday morning to let customers know the boil order is still active, but the conservation status is phasing back toward normal. What does that mean?
1.
Customers should still be boiling water at a rolling boil for at least 1 minute before drinking it or using brushing your teeth or using for cooking.

2.
They are still asking customers to conserve water during these hours:
- Evening… 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.
- Morning… 6:00 – 10:00 a.m.
All other time periods may resume uses of water.
3.
Note that customers will experience discolored water during this process. If you’re using the laundry washing machine, run a load of dark clothes first out of caution. If you need to wash clothes or dishes, Benton Utilities asks you to wait until these hours:
- Overnight… 9 p.m. – 6 a.m.
- Afternoon… 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Just to reiterate the main things:
- The boil water order is still in effect for ALL Benton Utilities customers.
- Conserve water in peak times (morning & evening)
