The Story
Based on the hit DreamWorks animated film, this musical adaptation follows a group of zoo animals who escape their home in New York City and find themselves unexpectedly shipwrecked on the zany shores of Madagascar.
The Showtimes
The lively, family-friendly show will take the stage at Love Auditorium on April 24th and 25th, 2025. Run time is 60 minutes.

The Cast
The cast features a talented lineup of local youth performers bringing beloved characters like Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe to life.
Laine Johnson (Alex The Lion)
This is Laine! They are playing Alex The Lion. This is their second show with Bryant Theatre Company.
Daliah The Bird (Marty The Zebra)
Dia Bird is 14 years old and a freshman at Bryant Junior High School. She is so excited to be playing Marty in Bryant Theatre Company’s Madagascar Jr. This is her 3rd show in Bryant’s productions. She started out in the ensemble for The Little Mermaid, and then she played Tommy in Matilda the Musical. Dia can’t wait to see you crack-a-lackin!
Hailey Thomas (Gloria the Hippo)
Hailey Thomas is beyond excited to take on the role of Gloria the hippo in Bryant Theatre Company’s Madagascar Jr. This marks her second year in theater, and she is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to showcase her talent on stage. Hailey would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jordan Murdock for believing in her and giving her the chance to share her passion with the Bryant community.
Brayden Armstrong (Melman the Giraffe)
Brayden is excited to join his 8th theater production. When he got his first role in 2023 he had no idea how much he would love being on stage. Brayden also enjoys participating in his school’s select ensemble choir, archery, and, of course, playing video games. He would like to thank Jordan Murdock for this opportunity.
Bailey Wright (Skipper the Penguin)
Bailey Wright is a freshman at Bryant Junior High School. This is her debut theatre performance. She is so excited to bring “Skipper” to life on the stage in Bryant Theatre Company’s Madagascar Jr. Bailey wants to thank Jordan Murdock for this amazing opportunity. She hopes you enjoy watching these characters go “back where they belong.”
Taylor Cage (King Julien)
Taylor Cage is playing king Julien, and has had one year in theatre. He is very talented and can sing in any ranges. He wants to thank Mr. Murdock for giving him an opportunity such as this one!
Lily Smith (Kowalski)
Lily is excited to be apart of the penguin squad in Bryant Theatre Company’s Madagascar Jr! This is her first ever year being involved with theatre, but is still excited for the experience! She wants to thank Jordan Murdock and the theater crew for the opportunity to show her talents on the stage!
Alexia Morales (Mason)
Alexia Morales has always wanted to do theatre. Playing Mason is a huge accomplishment to her. She is thankful for the opportunity that she was given and hopes to become better over time. This is her first year being in theatre, and Madagascar Jr. is her first play. She hopes that she brings joy to those watching her.
Alexis Wharton (Zookeeper Zeke)
Alex Wharton is very excited to be portraying many featured ensemble roles, including Zookeeper Zeke, in the Bryant Theatre Company’s production of Madagascar Jr. This is her third year being in a theatre production, and she’s very grateful to be part of such a talented and welcoming cast. She would like to thank Jordan Murdock for providing her with this opportunity.
Grace Hartsell (Zookeeper Zoe)
Grace Hartsell is in 8th grade at Bryant Junior High and is so thankful for the opportunity to play Zookeeper Zoe in this production of Madagascar the Musical. This is her second performance with the Bryant Theatre Company. She hopes you enjoy this crackalackin show!
Te’Aunna Johnson (Zoo Keeper Zelda)
Te’Aunna Johnson is so excited to be apart of Bryant Theatre Company’s Madagascar Jr.! This is their second year being involved in theatre as they previously were a worker/featured dancer in Hadestown: Teen edition. Te’Aunna wants to thank Jordan Murdock for giving them the opportunity to showcase their talents on the stage.
Jada Gill (Mort)
Jada Gill is thrilled to be playing Candy Hamernose and Mort in Bryant Theatre Company’s Madagascar Jr. This is Her first year in theatre she is in the 9th grade and currently attends Bryant Jr. High. In her free time she likes to watch musicals, read and watch tv shows. Jada has taken Drama sparking her interest in joining the cast. She wants to thank her mom for pushing her to follow her interests and dreams, the cast and managers putting their time and effort into making the show possible.
Stella Davidson (Maurice)
Stella Davidson is thrilled to be playing Maurice in Bryant Theatre’s Madagascar Jr. This is Stella’s second year of theatre. She would like to thank Mr. Murdock for the opportunity to be on stage!
Gwenyth Hodges (Penguin Ensemble)
Gwyneth Hodges is so excited to be apart of the penguins ensemble in Bryant Theatre Company’s Madagascar Jr. This is her first year full filing her love of theater and she is thankful for Mr. Murdock for allowing her this opportunity. Now give her your best “Hye-ya” as she makes her first appearance on stage!
Isabella Estrada Atkinson (Penguin Ensemble)
Isabella Estrada-Atkinson is thrilled to be playing a penguin in Bryant Theatre Company’s Madagascar Jr. This is her second show and she is very excited to be able to participate in it.
Linley Krebs (Penguin Ensemble)
Linley Krebs is very excited to be apart of penguin ensemble in Bryant Theatre Company’s Madagascar Jr. It is her first time being in theatre but she is ecstatic to continue. She would like to thank Jordan Murdock for the opportunity and experience to be able to show her talents on stage.
Kinley Berkshire (Ensemble)

Robbie Shelton (Ensemble)
Robbie Shelton is thrilled to join the Madagascar Jr. cast as part of the ensemble! This will be his second production with Bryant Theater Company, having been a part of the Hadestown: Teen Edition ensemble. Outside of theatre he enjoys music and plays percussion in the Bryant Junior High Band. He wants to thank Mr. Murdock for this opportunity and his friends and family for supporting him!
Lauryn Fells (Ensemble)
Lauryn Fells is ecstatic to be in the ensemble in the musical Madagascar Jr. This is her first year in theatre and she is so thankful that she can be a part of the musical. She wants to thank Jordan Murdock for giving her a chance in this musical and she would like to thank her family, especially her sister Maison Fells, for supporting and helping her through this exciting new experience.
The Crew
The production is directed by Jordan Murdock, with stage management by Aubree Blakenship.
With original music and lyrics by George Noriega and Joel Someillan, and a script based on the work of Kevin Del Aguila and Eric Darnell, this junior edition promises fun, adventure, and toe-tapping tunes for all ages.
