Ted Taylor, former City Engineer, has been appointed as the new Community Development Director for the City of Bryant.
Taylor has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Arkansas and graduated from the Arkansas Academy of Mechanical Engineers in 2015.
During his six years with the City of Bryant, Taylor was responsible for managing the Bryant Parkway projects, along with reviewing and revising all City specifications in regards to Water, Wastewater, Streets, and Stormwater.
Mayor Chris Treat plans to initiate a new comprehensive growth plan under Taylor’s leadership. “My aim is to shift our focus towards proactive planning rather than constantly being in reactionary mode,” said Treat.
The City of Bryant plans to complete a new Master Drainage Plan and a new Master Water/Wastewater Plan by the end of 2024 in what Mayor Treat calls “the year of the plan.”
“Ted’s exceptional problem-solving abilities and aptitude for long-range planning make him the perfect fit for this position at this critical juncture in Bryant’s development,” said Treat.
