UPDATE 04/06/17 11:30am
Bryant Public Schools sent the following message to parents.
FALSE ALARM: At approximately 10:25am today an active shooter alert for the high school campus went out through the Rave Panic Alert System. The alerts can be activated by staff members from cell phones. The alert was inadvertantly activated. There was no active shooter on the Bryant High School Campus. Police reacted and were on scene quickly while high school administrators immediately began emergency procedures. Bryant School District is committed to the safety of all students and understands parent concerns given the information that went out, but it was a false alarm and all students have returned to class.

MySaline received messages from parents beginning about 10:30am Thursday, saying they’d heard from students that there was lockdown situation.
One concerned parent said her daughter texted her they were “in their active shooter place.”
As I called the school to check on it (I assume they were busy assessing the situation), the parent said her daughter texted her again saying it was clear and that she thought “someone hacked the system.”
If I know Bryant Schools policy, their first priority is safety for the children and staff, and then they proceed with making a statement. Devin Sherrill, spokesperson for the school district gave a short reply that it was a false alarm and more info would be coming.
We’ll update as we get news.
