The Bryant School Board will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, August 10th at 6 p.m. to discuss a mask policy to start the 2021-22 school year.
The meeting will be held in the Fine Arts Building, located next to Hornet Arena on the Bryant High School Campus.
AGENDA
I. Call to Order
Board President Kim Billingsley will call the special meeting to order.
II. Mask Policy
On Friday, August 6, 2021, Act 1002, which prohibited public school districts from implementing mask mandates of any kind, was ruled unconstitutional by a Circuit Court Judge.
As of the publish date of this article, the state has not appealed the decision, so there are no further legal proceedings scheduled at this time.
Given this information, local school districts now have the authority to consider mask policies. Administration and the board will discuss options for the start of the school year.
III. Adjournment
