Late Wednesday afternoon, a student at the Bryant High School was found in possession of a loaded firearm on campus, according to the Bryant Police Department.
The student was immediately brought into custody by School Resource Officers without incident. Saline County Juvenile Services was contacted and the student was taken into their custody. No student or staff member was harmed in relation to this incident.
A statement from Bryant Schools says “At this point in the investigation, there is no evidence of a planned incident that would have endangered students or staff.
“Bryant Public Schools has allocated resources to provide armed officers on each of our twelve campuses. We take this type of incident very seriously. Providing a safe and secure learning environment is a top priority for our school district.”
Due to the matter involving a juvenile, no other details are available.
