Law enforcement and firefighters have a long history of rivalry, but Bryant Mayor Allen Scott announced Monday that an unprecedented partnership has formed between the City of Bryant, the Bryant Professional Fire Fighters Local 4606 and the Bryant Fraternal Order of Police.
The three entities have signed an agreement for joint use of an historical building in the original town area of Bryant. The property on SW 3rd Street that was formerly used at Fire Station 2, will now be shared by the organizations. The cost of improvements, the maintenance and utilities will all be shared, and it will be used as a meeting location and a platform for community outreach.
To give you an idea of the changes that have been made in this building already, here above is a picture from 2016 from the Google Street View.
“Having a physical location for any organization is a step forward in establishing a strong presence in a community,” stated Mayor Allen Scott. “I am proud to show the city’s support of these respective organizations, and I believe this is the first step in a long growing partnership.”
