In the past day, there has been a discussion on Facebook about whether a man who rescued a baby deer will be able to keep it – and also if a state agency might have to destroy it. According to discussion, the man is in his eighties and took in the fawn when he decided that the mother was killed. The discussion raised points on both sides of the issue – city ordinance and the possibility of disease but also the humanitarian aspect of a man who loves and takes care of an animal. I’ve put a screenshot below of one conversation about this. The names are blocked and color coded. KATV Channel 7 News is doing a story that you can watch tonight at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to find out what will happen.
Update 09/13/18
As the day wore on, representatives from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission came and tranquilized the fawn so they could take it with them. I was later euthanized. See stories the TV stations did below:
