After an election, it often happens that a new Mayor will appoint or hire new employees. MySaline told you in November that Bryant Mayor Allen Scott would replace Chief of Police Mark Kizer, who had served eight years beside the previous Mayor, Jill Dabbs. Since Saturday, December 29, 2018, Captain J.W. Plouch has served as Acting Chief of the Bryant Police Department.
Mayor Scott created a review committee created to weigh in on the hiring process for the next Chief. According to a statement released today, after much consideration, the following applicants will begin the interview process with the Mayor next week.
- Carl Minden
- Chad Henson
- Danna Powell
- Jenceson Payte
- J.W. Plouch
- Kevin Webb
- Nick Ramsey
- Richard Friend
“We received strong candidates throughout the application process” stated Mayor Scott. “I appreciate the committee’s input and diligence to narrowing down the interview list to focus on those that will bring the experience and leadership to the Bryant Police Department that is needed for our future growth and development.”
The committee is composed of a Mayor Scott, along with the city Human Resource Director, Charlotte Rue. It also includes a City Council member, City Department Head, two members of the FOP and a citizen at large.
