The Boys & Girls Club of Bryant hosted some special guests at Hill Barn Event Center for their 2022 Hometown Heroes Award Luncheon on Friday. See the list of award winners below, who are superstars in their own right.
At the luncheon, a young man named Weston who attends the Boys & Girls Club and is a super fan of Justin Moore, brought his guitar. The emcee of the event, RJ Hawk, is a Bryant City Councilman and one of Moore’s fellow radio co-hosts, on 103.7 The Buzz. David Bazzel, their other radio co-host and former Arkansas Razorback football star was also speaking at the event.
Toward the end of their speaking engagement praising the Boys & Girls Club and local volunteers, Hawk asked young Weston to come to the stage and bring his guitar. Some in the crowd of just over a hundred people thought the boy might play the guitar, but once he got to the stage, he just asked Moore to autograph it. Oh and just one more thing, could Justin please play one of his songs on it…? Of course the answer was yes.
It was a touching moment with the boy sitting right next to his hero as we heard that familiar voice and words to the song, “Small Town USA.” The same voice and song that has come through their radios and streaming services so many times. But Justin is local to this community in central Arkansas, and has given back in many ways just like this, particularly to the Boys and Girls Clubs.
And now for that list of award honorees, with Suzanne Passmore, CEO of Boys & Girls Club of Bryant, presenting:
