Hundreds of customers in Shannon Hills, Arkansas, will be relieved to no longer need to boil their drinking water. The Arkansas Department of Health has cancelled the Boil Water Notice issued last week by Shannon Hills Water Department.
This order was issued as a precautionary measure because of the possibility that contaminated water may have entered the distribution system as a result of a complete loss in normal system pressure and a construction related water line break.
Bacteriological samples taken on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 were found to be free of bacterial contamination and a satisfactory disinfectant level has been established throughout the distribution system. The water is therefore considered ‘Safe’ for human consumption and the ‘Boil Water’ notice is hereby lifted.
