A chase began Thursday night at a Benton sporting event and ended in Bryant. Benton Police officers arrested three out of four subjects.
About 8:00 p.m. on October 19, 2023, word got to an off-duty Benton Police officer that individuals were entering vehicles in the parking lot of the soccer field at the Boys & Girls Club at Riverside Park. Other officers got involved but the vehicle fled eastbound toward Little Rock.
The suspects made it to Bryant, but wrecked near mile marker 124 close to the Bryant Parkway exit. The passengers were taken into custody without incident. The driver is got away. According to a report from BNPD, all four subjects appear to be from out of state, including Alabama and Florida.

Dameaters Marshall, age 25; Chanel Mills, age 21; and Avira Mitchell, age 20; were arrested and charged with the following felony charges:
- Unauthorized Use of Another Person’s Property to Facilitate a Crime,
- 4 counts of Breaking or Entering,
- Criminal Mischief,
- Theft of Property,
- and Fleeing.
During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle struck three other vehicles. Neither the suspects nor any of the motorists they crashed into reported any serious injuries.
Four vehicle owners were identified from the break-ins in Benton. An additional victim was identified from Hot Springs. Detectives were able to recover almost all of the stolen items.

The BNPD urges the public to always lock your vehicles and never leave valuables in view. This becomes an easy target for criminals.
