It’s been about four months since we told you about sisters Jill and Joy, who were fixing up a spot in Bryant to open a Blue House Bakery & Cafe. You can read more about their story and dream below, but this update is to tell you they have set Wednesday, October 23rd as the date for their opening. They’ll be open for breakfast, lunch and grab & go on Tuesdays through Fridays, and brunch on Saturdays.

There’s a new business coming to Bryant that will bring you baked goods and a dine in experience as well as grab and go. Sisters Joy Billson and Jill Averitt have had a dream for ten years to open Blue House Bakery & Cafe. The sisters grew up in a family of eight in a blue house that their dad built.
“This is where I developed my love for baking,” stated Joy. “The kitchen is my happy place.”
She began baking chocolate chip cookies in her youth and after she began her own family, she found a love of cooking meals and feeding others.
A few years ago, Joy and Jill began a catering business and have been gaining in popularity through word of mouth.
“Our heart is to love others through hospitality and food,” stated Jill. “Our goal is for our customers to feel at home at Blue House, like family, and taste the love in every bite.”

Blue House will be a sit-down cafe, but they will also offer grab-and-go dinner meals and catering services.
Customers can expect a range of baked goods, including scones & muffins, cookies, cakes, and pies. You will be about to sit and have a salad, sandwich or the hot plate lunch of the day or just grab a dessert and choose from coffee, tea & soft drinks. Saturday will feature brunch items. There will be a small retail space with unique household items and gifts.
The sisters have a goal to open in the fall of 2019 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday – Friday and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. They also plan to offer meeting spaces and party events after hours.
